Project 3
Secret of The Golden Ratio, or divine proportion

Lithuanian team

Polish team

The students started their work by answering the following questions:
1 / Why is the pentagon the most common geometric figure in the world of living organisms, and the hexagon in the inanimate world?
2 / Why do not only works of human craftsmanship, but also products of nature exhibit certain numerical proportions in their structure?
3 / Is it a coincidence that these proportions are often expressed in the "golden number" of 1.618 ... and that we find them both in the human body and in the Egyptian pyramids?
4 / Was the ancient Greek sage right that the basis of the structure of the universe is number and that he himself lives and pulsates with one universal rhythm that can be calculated?
Students made works in the form of a poster or a multimedia presentation. They presented a short biography of Leonardo Fibonacci and the golden ratio in nature, architecture and art. They learned that the whole world is based on mathematics. The students' works were presented at an exhibition at the school.
